<FONT SIZE="+2">SOOLi (Suomen Ortodoksisten Opettajien Liitto)</FONT><br><br>

is an Association for The Orthodox Teachers in Finland founded in 1951 in order to be a forum for the  orthodox  teachers  to follow, develop and support  the religious upbringing of children and  youngsters  as well as  teaching the orthodox Religion in Finnish  schools.<br><br>

The members in the Association are Religion teachers but also  other orthodox teachers working on different levels.  Membership is open to all  if accepting the rules of the association.<br><br>

SOOLi arranges gatherings for its members twice a year.  The program of  the gathering in the spring, called “Kev&auml;tp&auml;iv&auml;t” is a weekend  based on professional subjects and schooling.  Lectures are held by experts for different subjects:  Bishops, Pedagogs etc.  “Syysp&auml;iv&auml;t”, weekend in the autumn  is  meant to be more for relaxing and refreshing  the teachers.<br><br>

A Magazine called The Orthodox Teacher (Ortodoksinen Opettaja) comes out  a couple of times per year and on top of that the members are informed on  the important subjects  by letters when needed, usually also a few times per year.<br><br>

SOOLi is a member in Eftre, European Forum for Teachers of Religious Education whereby it has contacts also in foreign countries.<br><br>
